Marigold african "Kilimanjaro"
African marigold "Kilimanjaro" - Tagetes erecta.
A triumph in marigold breeding - a very unusual inflorescence color!
A magnificent background annual. It is in great demand due to its high decorative value and unusual inflorescence color. The bushes are compact, not very tall, about 40-45 cm in height, at the peak of summer flowering they literally burst into a creamy-white blaze of numerous flowers...
The inflorescences are large (6-8 cm), densely double. The variety is unpretentious and retains its decorative effect under wind and rain.
Widely used for creating flower groups, borders, flower accents, and the unusual color of the inflorescences makes them more attractive and cheerful. Excellent for cutting.
Planted under fruit trees and shrubs, marigolds repel pests with their scent. Dried marigold flowers are used to control moths.
Cultivation.
For earlier flowering, it is not difficult to grow marigold seedlings indoors or in greenhouses. For healthy seedlings, you need nutritious loose soil, a steady temperature of +10+22°C and moderate watering. Marigold seeds are large, so they can be placed in furrows 2-3 cm apart. Seedlings are planted in open ground when the threat of frost has passed. When planting in open ground, seeds are sown in May at a depth of 0.5-1 cm.
Marigolds are heat- and light-loving, but can also grow in partial shade, are quite drought-tolerant, and undemanding to soil and moisture. To prolong flowering, remove faded inflorescences.
1.0 g = 290-300 seeds.
